A meditation on life, death, and eternity, it captures the fragile beauty of what is fleeting against the backdrop of the infinite.

An hourglass drifts in the time unfold : a Mirabilis flower and a skull. 

This project began with the idea of modeling an hourglass, primarily as a way to explore glass materials and the flowing motion of sand. But as the concept grew, the hourglass became a stage for a meditation on time, fragility, and eternity.

Core Elements

• The Hourglass – the central form, a timeless metaphor for the passage of life.

• Symbols of Time

  • Mirabilis Flower – or four o'clock flower, symbolizes unexpected beauty, the passing of time, and transformation

  • Skull or Skeleton Hand – mortality, the inevitable counterpoint to life’s bloom

• Background – a setting that expands the theme from the personal to the cosmic.

Nice to have

• Galaxy and Stars – to situate the scene in the vastness of eternity.

• Nebula – giving depth, color, and a dreamlike quality.

• Animated Sand – the ceaseless flow of time itself.

• Fog – to soften the space and suggest mystery.

• Spiral Staircase Inside the Hourglass – falling endlessly from top to bottom, symbolizing the journey of existence.

• A Silhouette Climbing the Stairs – humanity’s perpetual ascent through the cycles of time, even as the sands fall around it.
